Wendsday June 2nd I loaded up the Go Big Rig for a month long excursion with my first stop being the Coosa River Festival in Alabama. I stopped by a few shops on my way down from Maryland and meet some really friendly people. I even got a chance to check out the sweet indoor wave machine at Go With The Flow in Dawsonville, GA.
I arrived at the Coosa on Friday the 4th to get some practice rides in and meet the locals. Loni and his business Southern Trails offered up great hospitality and a great event. On Saturday the competition went off with Jeremy Adkins getting 2nd in the Pro Mens Rodeo in his M Flirt and Myself getting 2nd in the Expert Mens Big Air Competition. Jeremy threw some huge entry loops and just about everything else that the hole would allow to get second. I was able to get second in the Big Air Comp. by sticking some huge air loops. After the great competition everyone gathered at the dirt farm for live music and awards. It was a long night with lots of fun had by all. Stanley Esquivel's S Flirt even got run over by a truck, with only a black tire mark to show for it. I've been informed that this is how people in Alabama test the durability of new kayaks, Fluid passed! On Sunday I got back out to the Coosa playspot and got a bunch of people in the S and M Flirts. After a great demo I hit the road, headed towards Colorado. |
