Effective immediately Go Big Distribution will no longer be distributing or representing Fluid Kayaks in the U.S. market.
Due to increased financial difficulties and production issues, Fluid Kayaks has been unable to fill orders. Over the past three years Go Big Distribution has expanded and developed the Fluid brand in the U.S. market, while dealing with late deliveries and unfulfilled orders from Fluid.
Production of Fluid whitewater kayaks moved to Canada in early 2007 to improve distribution times and relieve the increasing issues with manufacturing in South Africa. Due to low production quantities and quality with the Canadian production plant, all Fluid whitewater kayak manufacturing will be returning to South Africa in early August.
Fluid Kayaks will be attending OR, but Go Big Distribution will not be attending or representing the company. Fluid does not plan to develop a new product for the 2008 season. The new boats proposed for 2007 (S Spice, M Solo, S/M/L Nemesis, M Element) are actually also the new boats for 2008.
Go Big Distribution has determined that it is no longer financially viable to be the U.S. distributor of Fluid products. This is due to the numerous difficulties that Fluid has had in supplying a quality product in a timely manner to the U.S. market.
I would like to personally thank all of you in the industry. You have accepted me into your inner circle and helped with the expansion of Go Big Distribution. The North American Fluid Kayaking Team has also been a huge help in developing and expanding the Fluid brand. I’d also like to thank the paddling community at large for a very warm reception throughout my travels while representing Fluid Kayaks.
