'06 Deerfield River Festival
(7/29-30/06)

(Helene, Bryon, and helpful boater literally "Holding Down the Fort.")

The Deerfield River Festival was a low key and fun event again this year. We did have a bit of weather blow threw during the festival which made for a lot of fun drunken antics by many of the festival goers. The Go Big Booth didn't hold up so well as one of the crossmembers folded and broke during the intense wind and rain storm. The river was good fun both Sat. and Sun. with boats and rafts everywhere. I haven't seen that much rubber on a river at one time in a very long while. The festival was also a great chance to catch up with old friends from the Northeast that I hadn't seen for awhile. The Spice seemed to be the hot boat for the weekend as many people enjoyed demoing the boat down the Dryway. The S Solo was also quite a hit with a number of paddlers.

(Put-In chaos at the Deerfield!)

Be sure to attend this festival next year as it is really beautiful in Massachusetts during this time of year and the Deerfield is a really fun paddle.
